2. Why did you join Above and Beyond?

It has 3 aspects that I love. One is that it is a unique way to serve God. Two is I love basketball and three is the thrill of flying through the air. It is the perfect ministry because of how receptive the world is to Above and Beyond.

3. Best aspect of Above and Beyond?

The friendships I have formed on the team.

4. Favorite ministry experience?

God provided the opportunity in 2005 to share with a girl about Jesus Christ after a ministry at Bannaker middle school in Maryland and she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior.

5. How do you prepare yourself for a ministry?

I like to sit down and clear everything out of my head. Then, I just talk to God and ask Him for the strength to do the ministry and that through it He would be glorified.

6. At least 3 people that have influenced you the most?

1.  Dennis Allison
2.  Lee Allison
3.  Jeremy Allison

7.  How & Why did you decide to give you life back to Christ?

I grew up in a Christian home and my parents always taught me about the Bible and what Jesus Christ did for me on the cross. When I was six, I went to my dad and asked how I could have Jesus Christ in my life and ultimately go to heaven. He showed me I had to pray to confess that I was a sinner and acknowledge that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. I had to ask Jesus into my heart and ask Him to save me from my sins.

Since I got saved at such a young age I had some doubts growing up about my salvation because I wasn’t sure if I really meant it. Growing up it was tough for me to give my life fully to God because I still wanted to have fun and enjoy myself. I wanted to be in control of my life. My desire for control is another reason I questioned my salvation. At the conclusion of my church winter retreat I reassured my salvation by rededicating my life to Christ. I realized that if I wanted to live a life above and beyond the only way was thru Jesus Christ because everything else left me empty.

8. How have you grown since joining Above and Beyond?

Above and Beyond has been a big part of getting me on the right track in my relationship with God. The ministry has taught me so much about what God intends for your life and the relationship that He desires to have with you. I have also learned that having good friends that love God can help keep you accountable and focused on Him.

9. What aspect of the Above and Beyond life still challenges you the most?

Living the life God intended everyday, so that when times get rough and  it’s hard to focus on the Lord I will know the above and beyond life He desires for me.

10. Where do you see God calling you?

I believe God is calling me into youth ministries so that I can work with teens. I would love to start a camp with a couple different branches. One branch is a church summer camp where teens from different churches come and have a good time while learning about God. Another branch of the camp will be for teens to have the opportunity to go on short term missions trips. The last branch of the camp is a sports camp where teens learn the fundamentals of a sport while also learning the message of Jesus Christ.

11. What is your vision for Above and Beyond’s future?

I believe Above and Beyond has a bright future and it looks promising. I feel we are still in the beginning stages but if we continue to pray and work that we could become as big as And 1.
