2.  One of my professors at Liberty.
3.  Both of my parents.
4.  My old youth pastor.
5.  And of course most of all Jesus Christ.

7.  How did you get saved?

I got saved when I was four years old. I was at my house and my two older cousins were over. They were talking about being saved and one of them asked me if I was saved. I didn’t understand what that meant so I asked her and she told me that I should go and ask my mom what it meant. Accordingly, I went into my mom’s bedroom and asked her what it meant to be saved. She led me to Christ right there.

I know that even though I was so young I completely understood the concept of salvation and I know that I was saved that day. However, it wasn’t until I came to college that I truly understood who I was in Jesus Christ. All growing up, I knew what it meant to be a Christian and I knew the right things to do and the right ways to act. But I didn’t truly understand, with my heart, what the Christian life was all about. It is about knowing, truly knowing with your heart not just with your head, who God is. It is also about truly knowing who you are because of Christ Jesus. True understanding is when knowledge or faith meets revelation. The knowledge or faith comes from reading the Word; the revelation is when God reveals the truths of His Word to you through His Holy Spirit. One cannot truly have a heart knowledge of anything until God reveals that truth to him or her through His Spirit.

8. How have you grown since joining Above and Beyond?

I have really grown since I have been a part of this team. It is so encouraging to be around a group of people that are going through the same kind of things that I am going through. I know that every single team member really cares for each other and any troubles that they are going through. I really feel like this team is a place of refuge for each of us. We know that we can come to the team for support, comfort, challenge or anything.

9. What aspect of the Above and Beyond life still challenges you the most?

Remembering who I am in Christ Jesus and living from that.

10. Where do you see God calling you?

I see God calling me to use my nursing in a Spanish speaking country.

11. What is your vision for Above and Beyond’s future?

I hope that this ministry continues on for years and years to come. God has given Above and Beyond such an awesome tool to draw in every different kind of person in every different age group in order to share with them the Gospel. I hope that is a fact that every member of this team now and in the years to come is aware of and thankful that God has allowed them to take part in it.
