Shawn Mahan is not your average 26 old man, but then again average has never been a word that is used to describe Shawn. Above and beyond is not just what he does, it is more like who he is.           Shawn has always had a strong desire to live to the fullest and has never been one to do things the conventional way.           At an early age Shawn excelled in many extreme sports. With dreams of being the next Bruce Lee or world class gymnast Shawn began to study both karate and gymnastics.
	By the time he was in high school he excelled in rollerblading and had won many awards, competing in the expert amateur level, up and down the east coast. True to nature his love of the extreme led him to become an expert amateur in wakeboarding, snowboarding, and slam dunking. A born leader, Shawn was also named Captain of his High school Soccer team.
	Shawn was given the rare opportunity to travel throughout the US demonstrating many of these skills he spent years perfecting with the Above and Beyond team.
	In 1997 Shawn graduated from West minister Academy and headed upstate NY for training at Word of Life Bible Institute. Shawn has always had a strong desire to use his God given abilities to share His faith. He received his bachelor of Science in religion from Liberty University in the spring of 2004. While in college Shawn founded the Above and beyond skate team which traveled to schools and city events on weekends.
	Upon graduating from Liberty Shawn was hired as Youth Outreach Coordinator for a large Church of over 10,000 members. Living in Virginia and far away from the life he had once loved so much, Shawn responded to the desire to return to his roots so to speak. He returned to Florida to assume the CEO position for Above and Beyond.
	Since his return the program has grown and many doors of opportunity have opened. Most recently Above and Beyond has lauched it’s Clothing and sports accessory label, AB. His desire is to see the Above and beyond program not just be an outreach program, but become a way of life for young people all over the world.
	His passion is to see the Youth of Above and beyond not only reach heights physically, mentally and emotionally, but also spiritually.
