In the summer of 1969 Betty Lou Mahan of McGraw NY, became the first Christian in the Mahan household. Her new found peace and joy was so indescribably different, no one could help but notice, especially her son Ken. During his senior year at McGraw Central H.S., Ken sang in the YOUTH-A-RAMA Talent Contest. There he met Bill Brown, Vonda Kay VanDyke (Miss America 1965) Bernie Heath and youth singing sensation, the Now Dimensions. Ken quickly dismissed their stories about Jesus as their personal savior but could not ignore what God was doing in his mom’s life.           After much prayer from carring individuals Ken attended a church service in Blodgett Mills NY. Bill Brown spoke. The Now Dimensions sang and Jesus Christ became Ken’s personal savior.
	In September of 1970, Ken was accepted as a student at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, N.Y. There he and Lorraine Calder of Moncton New Brunswick, Canada began a relationship that would lead to marriage three years later.
	While students at Washington Bible College and Capital Bible Seminary Ken and Lorraine eventually served for twelve years at the Riverdale Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, MD under the incredible leadership of both Dr. Herb and Lois Fitzpatrick. God lead us on one adventure after another in Guatemala, Portugal, Greece, England, France, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Mexico, Bahamas and many more right here in the United States. God took us from the streets of New York City to the beaches of Florida with half times of professional sports teams, and pep-rallies for local high schools. God used the athletic and arts affinity groups of Karate, Kung-Fu, Weightlifting, Gymnastics, Slam Dunking, Water Skiing, Roller Blading, Skate Boarding, BMX, Band, Magic, Puppets & Drama.
	Pastor Ken and Lorraine reside in Boca Raton, Florida with their sons; Shawn, Jason and Jeremy. Shawn, 26 is about to begin the Above and Beyond action sports company and is currently working on franchising Above and Beyond as a youth / student ministry for churches all around the U.S. Jason, 23 is working on his MBA at Liberty University, while directing the Above & Beyond Slam Dunk Team on weekends. Jeremy at 19 is a freshman at Liberty and a weekend warrior with the Slam Dunk Team.
